About The Unforgettable First Summer Camp Program by Abdul-Lateef & Sanni Foundation
This year, the Abdul-Lateef & Sanni Foundation had its first summer camp program organised for its secondary school scholarship award recipients. The purpose of the program was to create a platform where our scholarship award recipients would be exposed to a world of different and new career paths and have a memorable summer break.

The highlights of this year’s program were the excursions to different product manufacturing companies and a shipping company. The students had the opportunity to visit the Ardova Plc Tank farm at Apapa, Lagos, a leading maritime shipping company at Apapa and a Cashew nut processing factory.
The excursions opened their eyes to different career parts asides from the conventional professions every child aspires to become. At the tank farm, they were taken on a tour round the loading terminal and saw up-close the massive petroleum product storage tanks, they were also given a tour of the petroleum lubricant production plant and saw first-hand the process of producing motor lubricants.

From the tank farm, we proceeded to the shipping company where they were taken on a boat to see ships that have been docked and ship still on the water ways, the students were amazed by the sizes of the ships and the facilities aboard the ships. The second field trip was to a cashew nut processing factory where they were given a tour of the factory and the process of production was explained from start to finish.
Aside from the field trip our students took part in our digital skills and community development program at our learning and development centre, they were given basic training on the use of Microsoft office tools, digital marketing and graphic designs.
In all, our scholarship students had a swell time this summer and they will certainly have interesting essays to write when they resume from the summer break.
